Sentence Correction: Comparatives - Superlatives

The reason that the Yongala shipwreck in Australia is considered the best dive site in the world is because of the abundance of underwater sea life that surrounds the sunken ship.

This answer is stylistically flawed. Using both the reason and because is redundant.

What helps us identify this question as a Redundancy question as well as identify this mistake is the following Stop Sign:

the reason + because

Although this answer choice corrects the original Redundancy by not using both the reason and because in the same sentence, it is grammatically incorrect as it misuses the Superlative form indicated here by the use of the word best. The Superlative form requires that the group under comparison be defined. However, this answer choice does not provide information about the group of which the Yongala dive site is the best.

In order for this Superlative to be complete, this group must be defined.

Nice work!

This answer choice corrects the original Redundancy by not using both the reason and because in the same sentence.
