Sentence Correction: Preposition and Idiom Questions - Overview

Which of the following is NOT a preposition?

Correct! Yet is a connector. A connector links two different sentences whereas a preposition links two parts of a single sentence.  

Over is a preposition as it can link two parts of a sentence.

Example: John went over the material.

In this example, the preposition over links the verb went with the object the material.

Into is a preposition as it can link two parts of a sentence.

Example: John has never got into a fight. 

In this example, the preposition into links the verb got with the object a fight.
