Sentence Correction: Pronoun Questions - Ambiguity

Complete the following sentence regarding Sentence correction questions:

Ambiguity is a __________ mistake.

Correct! The stylistic mistakes in Sentence Correction questions are ambiguity and redundancy.

Incorrect. Ambiguity is a stylistic mistake. The distinction between grammatical and stylistic mistakes is important because the correct answer to a Sentence Correction question is not always perfect - it is sometimes stylistically flawed (i.e., redundant or ambiguous). Thus, we need to eliminate grammatically incorrect answer choices BEFORE stylistically flawed ones, and we also need to be prepared to choose a redundant/ambiguous answer choice if there's no answer choice that is both grammatically correct and stylistically correct.
