Sentence Correction: Subject Verb Agreement - X of Y Subject

Although some reviewers were skeptical of the findings, a medical journal have published an article according to which parts of the brain responsible for love has been found by two scientists from University College, London.

Very good!

This answer choice corrects the two Subject Verb Agreement mistakes in the original sentence, by changing have to has at the beginning of the underlined section, and has to have at the end of the sentence.

Note that the change from found to discovered is NOT a significant change in this instance, as both words have the same meaning. Do not eliminate an answer choice just because there is a change in wording

Incorrect.

This answer choice is grammatically incorrect because it contains two Subject Verb Agreement mistakes. The first is a disagreement between the singular subject journal and the plural verb have. The second is a disagreement between the plural subject parts of the brain responsible for love and the singular verb has.

Incorrect.

While this answer choice corrects one of the originalSubject Verb Agreement mistakes, it does not correct the other: a disagreement between the singular subject journal and the plural verb have.

Note that a Sentence Correction question can have more than a single mistake (the number of mistakes is 0-2). Therefore, if you spotted a mistake in the original sentence, do not stop reading. Go on reading the original sentence until it ends or until you find another mistake.

Incorrect.

While this answer choice corrects the first of the original Subject Verb Agreement mistakes, by changing the singular verb has to the past form published (which can be plural as well as singular), it does not correct the other mistake: a disagreement between the plural subject parts of the brain responsible for love and the singular verb has.
